How you can see on this map that is shown below, we used this path from Landeskrankenhaus to Hauptbahnhof and all these dots on the map a direct plays that we visited and about which we are going to talk about.
#1Traditional fast-food
#2 Traditional simple-food
#3 Shops with traditional cloth
Near to the previous shop we found a shop that really took our attention. How you already got from the name of this paragraph, this shop includes in itself different variations of Islam cloth. Shop workers were guys who were part of international migration as others. This place generally plays a major role in migrant citizens life because its almost an only place where they can buy cloth for them. Also tourists can buy here if they interested in it. If I was a tourist I would even buy it just for fun. Also this shop can play a role of decoration of the town.
#4 Traditional Jewelry
In 5 minutes from the previous shop we found another one but it differ from previous. This shop sells traditional jewelry. We could not even think about this type of shop that we can find in Salzburg, so we were so excited. This shop gives opportunities and possibilities for a female part of immigrants, they also want to be fancy as common people in this city. Unfortunately, we found out that one of the sellers was an unauthorized immigrant because he enters the country without proper documents. How did we find out? When we started to ask seller questions about the shop, he didn't understand us and gave us his passport where Max Wriense found out that its made in incorrect way. Once again, this shop can provide immigrants with jewelry and even sell something for common citizens and get them familiar with their culture.
#5 Communicational possibilities of immigrants
Next step was to find out how all of these immigrants communicate with their families which live abroad of the country. It was easy to find out because in 15 minutes we found a special property which sells possibilities of communicating immigrants through the fastest way that they have: internet, special phones and even writing letters. In this places usually work people whom we call Brain Drain people because you need to be smart enough to work there. To prove it, we began a conversation with a worker and he was really smart enough and knew a fluent German and English.
To conclude our topic we will answer on main question of this expedition: "How much do the cultural practices of immigrants change the cultural landscape of their new city?" Cultural practices of immigrants change entirely the cultural landscape of city, in our example is Salzburg. All these shops that surround us change everything, so we can even lose a point of where we are know. Most often, we even prefer their food because it tastes much better than Austrian food or cloth which someone can prefer more than common. All these industries change the majority of people in Salzburg, I mean that it can be even like : 70% of Salzburg are immigrants and 30% another are natives.
